LPC-Associate Supervision

Are you needing a supervisor for your LPC internship?

First of all....CONGRATULATIONS!!   You have completed the education portion of your training, earned your degree, and are licensed as a counselor in the state of Texas; my primary role is to oversee, to the best of my abilities, your actual practice of counseling in compliance with Texas licensing regulations. My services as your clinical licensing supervisor will be rendered in a professional manner consistent with accepted ethical standards.

I know how stressful it can be to find a supervisor. I would be honored to guide you on your journey to becoming a fully licensed LPC!

LPC Associate Internship is one of the final steps in the developmental process of learning to counsel. My belief is that this can be accomplished only over time with supervised practice and with reflection on that practice.

In my role as your supervisor, I will attend to safeguarding your clients’ welfare, assist your professional growth, and serve as a gatekeeper of the profession.

What your supervised internship with me will look like...

We will have weekly virtual meetings that will be individual or group.

Your part in this process will be to counsel clients weekly, to prepare paperwork weekly on counseling sessions, and to attend weekly supervision sessions (four hours per month minimum). Supervision will require reflection on (1) the counseling process of your client sessions, (2) you as the counselor, and (3) the profession of counseling (primary focus on licensing regulations). You will present those issues that remain unresolved at supervision. To this extent, you are in charge of your learning. I will try to help you understand how to prepare for your supervision.

What I am looking for in an LPC-Associate...

  • has a final goal of private practice
  • appreciates their own self-care practices
  • self-sufficient with their caseload and will be able to inform me of any client concerns
  • detail oriented and punctual
  • not afraid to learn new approaches and theories
  • drive for continuing their professional development

What you will get from me as your supervisor...

  • Depending on your development as a counselor, I will serve as a teacher and a consultant. As well as a counselor, if and when you need to work through anything that hinders client progress.
  • I will guide you through the insurance credentialing process towards the end of your supervision.
  • I will help you set up your website and marketing strategy.
  • My availability to talk in between our sessions for quick consult on your client care.

If you think we'd make a good fit....

Send me your resume and a letter of recommendation and we'll get an interview time set up.

Additional items you will need to send me if you begin your internship with me:

  • Passing score from NCE
  • Jurisprudence exam certificate
  • Proof sheet of LPC-A license
  • Face sheet of professional liability insurance
